Arsenal offered £20 million Lyon star

Could Houssem Aouar be a last ditch Arsenal signing this summer window?

The signs point in that direction. Arsenal have a long-standing interest in the French playmaker and this season could finally get their man.

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Lyon are getting pretty desperate to sell Aouar and have even offered him to Arsenal in the last few days.

However, Romano also confirmed that Arsenal are yet to respond. It appears that over the next couple of days Arsenal are solely focused on exits with Nketiah, Torreira, Willian and Kolasinac all seemingly on the verge of leaving the club.

I would imagine that once this business is done, perhaps there will be the potential to make a couple more moves in the transfer window.

According to previous reports, Lyon are asking for anything between £17-25 million depending on what source you believe.

If the player is truly available for that cheap, it is a no-brainer for Arsenal. Arteta is a huge fan. Aouar would bring a bit more zip to our midfield and could open up the possibility of using a 4-3-3 which Arteta seems to want to move towards.

Imagine the solid backline of Tierney, Gabriel, White and perhaps a new RB. The unreal midfield trio of Partey, Aouar and Odegaard and a front three which could consist of ESR, Saka, Auba, Laca or Pepe.

It would be really exciting!
