Arsenal weighing up player plus cash offer for £65 million top target

It is becoming clearer and clearer that Arsenal’s top target this summer is Leicester’s James Maddison.

As reported by Adrian Kajumba, a fairly reliable football reporter, Arsenal are growing increasingly confident that Arsenal can convince Leicester to sell one of their best players.

It is thought that the Foxes would be prepared to see him leave, but only at the right price which is rumoured to be nothing short of £65 million.

However, the latest reports suggest that Arsenal would be willing to include a player to sweeten the deal. This would either be Reiss Nelson (as Leicester are on the hunt for a winger) or Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who Leicester were interested in in January.

Personal terms are unlikely to be the issue with this deal. It is thought that the allure of a 5 year £200k per week deal and the number 10 shirt is persuasive enough for Maddison. In fact, Adrian Otieno reports that he is even considering making a formal transfer request to come to Arsenal.

All things are pointing towards this deal being more likely than I first thought. I think clearly there is money available, Leicester want Maitland-Niles and Maddison wants the Arsenal move; this is the perfect move for all parties if Arsenal can agree a fee with Leicester.
