Arsenal bid €40 million for Euros star, but await player’s final decision

Arsenal have been looking at a number of midfield targets to strengthen us in the middle. Other than Xhaka, who still might leave the club this summer, last season we really struggled to get an ideal partner for Thomas Partey.

That is set to change this summer with Arsenal looking at a number of potential targets including Ruben Neves and Yves Bissouma.

However, top of the list is Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli. It is thought that Arsenal have met Sassuolo’s €40 million valuation; something that Juventus are yet to do. Many reports have said that Arsenal have offered the best financial package to Sassuolo.

However, the tricky thing now is to agree to personal terms with the player preferring a move to Juventus. The player is waiting to see if Juventus can match Arsenal’s offer before deciding on his future.

This is one of the easier-to-stomach transfer sagas. I really like Locatelli and think he probably is the best option out of himself, Bissouma and Neves. However, not by much. In fact, I would rather sign Bissouma, a guy who is desperate for us to go get him and would be the perfect partner for Partey, than Locatelli who despite being the better player is clearly not totally convinced by Arteta and Edu’s project here.

What do you think Gooners? Do we keep waiting on Locatelli or move on to some other targets now?
