Arsenal close in on £55 million signing

Now that the Euros are finished, I think across the Premier League we are about to start seeing a lot more transfer movement.

One of those potential transfers could Brighton’s Ben White.

Arsenal have been locked in negotiations with Brighton for a number of weeks regarding the price. We opened the bidding at £40 million, but Brighton have always wanted closer to £55 million.

However, recent reports suggest Arsenal have finally met that valuation, having bid £48 million with £7 million worth of potential add ons.

Right now there are a number of reports saying different things, therefore it might still take a couple of weeks to sign him, but things are looking good with multiple outlets suggesting that discussions will intensify now that the player’s Euros campaign is over.

Overall, I am still for this deal. With Luiz, Mustafi and Sokratis no longer at the club, we need to add a new CB and I’m glad we are signing one of the right profile.

White is young, versatile, and has impressed in the Premier League so far. Is it more than he is worth? Yes I think so, but that suggests to me that there is money to spend this summer. If you put the slightly inflated price tag aside, nobody can tell me White wouldn’t be a quality addition moving forward.
