Arsenal prioritise £49.5 million midfield signing this summer

Other than some rumours linking us to Yves Bissouma and Ruben Neves a few weeks ago, there has been little in the way of news regarding Arsenal’s plans to replace Xhaka and find a partner for Thomas Partey.

Well, now some rumours have broken out that this is because they have been prioritising a move for Eduardo Camavinga behind the scenes.

According to Alexis Bernard of le10sport, Arsenal have been working for 2 months on a potential deal for Camavinga, who is valued at £49.5 million. It has been described as a priority signing and you can understand why; he clearly has an abundance of talent and is still just 18 years old.

He can pass, dribble, shoot and throw himself about a bit as well. Perfect attributes for a box to box midfielder. However, a deal won’t be easy as PSG have also expressed an interest. Though, reports suggest their priority signing will be Achraf Hakimi this summer and they will have a limited budget.

The potential signing could be made easier by the fact that the Rennes midfielder has said he will not extend with the French club. If that frame of mind continues, he will be offered to clubs on the 28th of June.

I’m sure he will attract a lot of interest, but I can see why he would choose Arsenal. Right now, we don’t have European football, but we can guarantee him more game time than most other options. Plus, he is only 18 and won’t be in a rush to win a Champions League. For him personally, it could be the perfect move.
