Edu plans £34 million swoop for Serie A midfielder

Edu has identified Manuel Locatelli, 23, of Sassuolo as a key midfield target for Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal will clearly need to make a few midfield signings this summer as a number of players seem to be heading for the exit door.

Locatelli seems to potentially be top of the list. Previously, we had heard that Yves Bissouma of Brighton was just a backup target; perhaps this guy is the top priority.

I have been impressed with what I have seen of Locatelli. He is dynamic, combative and yet very composed on the ball. He was impressive against Turkey in the Euros opener on Friday.

However, he will not come cheap with a transfer value of £34 million.

What do we think Gooners? Is he a better option than Bissouma? I think we should be looking at potentially signing both, such is the bare threaded nature of our midfield right now.
