Reports broke last night with some really good news for Arsenal fans.

Arsenal really lacked creativity and goals from their midfield last season, and Martin Odegaard had been thought of the answer to that. However, it is now thought that with Carlo Ancelotti back at Madrid, the Spanish giants will be playing hardball over Odegaard this summer.

As such, Arsenal have been looking towards Emi Buendia. Reports suggest that talks started with Norwich in January, but now Arsenal have made an official bid.

First reported by Charles Wyett of the Sun and then reaffirmed by AFCBell, Arsenal made a bid of £30 million plus add ons to Norwich. This initial offer was rejected by Norwich who want something closer to £40 million, however talks are ongoing. Meaning there is still a good chance Arsenal can reach some agreement with Norwich despite interest from Aston Villa.

It would be a great signing for Arsenal. He would bring goals, creativity and versatility to our midfield. The 24 year old was the player of the season in the Championship with 15 goals and 16 assists to his name. He can play behind the striker, out wide, or also as a deep lying playmaker.

£40 million seems steep but to be honest, in the long term it would probably be worth it.
