French club in “advanced talks” to sign £18 million Arsenal youngster

Reports are emerging today that French club Marseille are in advanced talks to land the signature of an Arsenal midfielder.

Matteo Guendouzi has spent the last year on loan, after Arteta found difficulties in dealing with Guendouzi’s hot-headed nature and what some have called a bad attitude.

Whilst many fans have been crying out for Arteta to give him another chance with Arsenal, it seems increasingly likely that the club will cash in on the youngster and make a quick profit on the £7 million paid for him to join the club from Lorient a few years ago.

Fabrizio Romano said on Twitter that Arsenal are planning to sell a number of players in the coming days, with Guendouzi and Xhaka seemingly the closest right now to the exit door. Romano confirmed we are also willing to sell Torreira.

If we do sell all of these guys, we will need to sign at least two or maybe three central midfielders to replace them. Or we will be starting next season with just Partey, Elneny and Smith Rowe as players who might play in any central midfield position.

For me, I like Guendouzi and do think he should get another chance at Arsenal. However, I would not be against selling him as long as the price is right. He has a value of £18 million according to Transfermarkt, but I think we should try and get around £30 million out of him, and if not then don’t sell.
