Arsenal identify €10 million Kieran Tierney Understudy

It is no secret that since Sead Kolasinac left the club, Arsenal have been keeping an eye out for an experienced left back to provide suitable backup for Kieran Tierney.

The Scot has been having a brilliant season, but it hasn’t been totally without injury stress. And it’s when Tierney has been out of the side where we have really struggled to replace his presence.

The issue is that we are forced to play with Cedric, who has done admirably in that position. But it is clear that he is far less comfortable as an inverted full back. Having two right footers (usually Auba or Willian and Cedric), just means they get in each other’s way

Arsenal have therefore identified Jordan Amavi of Marseille to be this signing. The former Villa man has had a solid stay at Marseille and has nailed down their left back spot. But now, his contract is running out. His current value is €10 million, but his contract is expiring at the end of this season, meaning he may well be available for nothing.

It all comes down to what Amavi decides. Marseille may yet convince him to stay, he might be persuaded to come to the Emirates and AC Milan are also monitoring his progress.

It is a question of whether he wants to make that step up to a club like Milan or Arsenal, or if the more regular game time he will get from Marseille will convince him to stay at the French side.
