Many Arsenal fans thought today (Friday) would be the day for a breakthrough in talks between Arsenal and Lyon for Houssem Aouar, but alas, we must go into Saturday still wondering whether or not this will materialize. However, on the bright side, we do have some solid news from a solid source, and it looks like Arsenal have a free run at the 22-year-old French midfielder with the competitors ruled out.

According to Saber Desfarges of Telefoot Chaine, currently considered one of the best sources for French transfer news and closely tracking the Aouar situation, new discussions did take place today. “It’s a dream. It’s not the right moment”

There are only a few days to go as the deadline is Monday, October 5. Chances of landing both Aouar and Partey look slim, but you can never really tell…
