Arsenal must act fast if they are to sign Adam Lallana after latest blow

Those who follow the Arsenal transfer news closely know one pattern tends to emerge above the rest, and that is the hunt for a midfield signing. Especially with Lucas Torreira raising doubt in recent weeks, the hunt for a midfield grows ever more apparent at the Emirates Stadium.

This is why it’s handy that a particular English midfielder is soon to run out of contract at the champions of Europe, Liverpool. I am of course talking about Adam Lallana, who is bound to be the subject of transfer talk in the coming weeks.

Indeed, Arsenal are known to be expressing an interest in Lallana, and it’s not difficult to see why; it just makes perfect sense. Athough, perhaps unsurpisingly, the Gunners will face competition in their pursuit of the Englishman, with Leciester City also keen on signing him. It’s thought that the Foxes may lose James Maddison this summer, so it’s better to be safe than sorry,

According to a new report from the Football Insider, the Foxes have already offered Lallana a long-term contract which would see him move from Anfield to the King Power Stadium. That said, if Arsenal are serious about signing Lallana, then they need to act quick.

Of course Lallana will be tempted to sign for Leicester, any player would. They are no longer that small Midlands side and their flame certainly hasn’t died out since they won the Premier League. Although Arsenal are also setting out an interesting project, fans have every right to feel the anxiety of Leicester’s offer.

Does this mean that the pursuit of Lallana is over? No, certainly not. Arsenal don’t have financial restirctions to worry about, so I’m certain they will bounce back. After all, we all know how much the club loves a freebie. However, it just means they need to act quick, which could be a blessing in disguise.

Do you think Arsenal will sign Adam Lallana this summer?
