Those who follow the Arsenal transfer news regularly know that there is one theme that emerges above the rest, and that is the quest to sign a striker. We shouldn’t be surprised either, given the rumours that seem to link Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a move away from the club.
Certain names always appear to pop up, with Jonathan David being one and Mauro Icardi being the spectacular option. However, Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis is also a name that seems to crop up. The 22-year-old Club Brugge forward is now rumoured to be on his way out, according to the Daily Mail, with his agent claiming it is very likely.
Dennis has made a name for himself this season, and many football fans may recognise his name from Brugge’s home draw with Manchester United, whereby he put in a stellar performance and got the goal to secure a point for his side against the popular belief they would lose.
Dennis is by no means as prolific as Aubameyang, that’s for sure. However, ageing at 22 years old, he has plenty of time to adapt and become a reliable goal scorer for Arsenal, especially under Mikel Arteta. However, it will take time.
Dennis is a malleable player, since he can also play as a right-sided midfielder or attacker. This is one area to Aubameyang’s game that Arsenal have taken advantage of, so they certainly wouldn’t miss that if they chose to sign Dennis. With the Coronavirus pandemic, too, it could bring Dennis in at an even more reduced price.
